Sample program used to test patch

On my Asus laptop, the patch makes the test program happy except maybe for some
length fields.
On my i7 desktop, the test program causes my kernel to panic (!), see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/924596, presumably either my sata controller or
its driver are unhappy.
