I have a slightly different problem where everything is displayed not black but
way too dark (wine-1.3.37).

@ wine-1.2 all is fine (except pink horse resource :D)

Currently, I am trying to find a 1.3 series release where civ4 is fine:

@ wine-1.2.3 completely missing menus
@ wine-1.3.0 civ4 won't start
@ wine-1.3.15 same issue as in 1.3.37, so I suspect it's all over 1.3

next try: probably 1.2.2 or 1.3.10, holy compile times :)

My system: Gentoo amd64, Intel GMA4500 with both latest kernel DRM
(3.2.5/3.3_rc3) and userspace driver.
