It seems pretty likely that this is either a bug in swrast or an issue with
your setup. I tested this with the Diablo II demo on wine-1.4-rc3 and softpipe
from current (d2c54fb) Mesa and it renders fine for me, if a bit slow. For what
it's worth, r600g also works fine here. If this is about workarounds for bug
14348, I'd recommend the DRAW_USE_LLVM=0 environment variable mentioned there.
If that doesn't work either for some reason, you can still explicitly request
the behaviour from before 94ae743 by setting the DirectDrawRenderer registry
