Still present in Wine-1.4-rc5. Tested with the full version of the game.

I get these before the crash occurs:
>fixme:d3dx:D3DXGetImageInfoFromFileInMemory File type DDS is not supported yet

Native d3dx9_36.dll is a workaround.
