I think the application in question is HeeksCAD 0.18.0 (download link added to
url).
The program is under development and source code of the application is also
available.

In fact, the application crashes on start with
wine: Call from 0x7b839342 to unimplemented function
msvcp90.dll.??0?$basic_ifstream at DU?$char_traits at D@std@@@std@@QAE at PBDHH@Z,
aborting

That could be bug #28612. After 'winetricks vcrun2008' the program starts. 

I tested with Wine-1.1.29, 1.2.3, 1.3.32 and 1.3.37 but didn't see any
regressions.
Some minor problems do exist, but they were present with earlier Wine versions
as well. For example, after starting the program the main window contains
garbage which disappears when clicking on the working area.

@bug reporter: please attach terminal output as requested in comment #4, so we
can see if your problem is the aforementioned unimplemented stuff (or something
else).
