Error comes up everytime "Microsoft Windows [version]" is selected in left
pane.

Note that this isn't any different that the initial error pop-up on launch. On
launch, by default, it selects "Microsoft Windows [version]" in the left pane.
So it makes sense that it gives the error on launch too.

It's just that on launch, the main window doesn't appear until you say "OK" to
the pop-up. Whereas later, when you select "Windows" in the left pane, the
window is already loaded, so you see both the main window and the error.
