             Bug #: 31172
Summary: Cygwin 1.7.1 fails to install packages, complains
                    parse errors
           Product: Wine
           Version: 1.5.8
          Platform: x86
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: -unknown
        AssignedTo: wine-bugs at winehq.org
        ReportedBy: fracting at gmail.com
    Classification: Unclassified

use `winetricks -q --no-isolate cygwin` to install cygwin.

An warning dialog says:
"The current ini file is from a newer version of setup.exe. If you have any
trouble installing, please download a fresh version from
http://www.cygwin.com/setup.exe"

After that, an error dialog says:
"
Parse Errors
http://mirros.163.com/cygwin//setup.bz2 line 1221: syntax error, unexpected
STRING
http://mirros.163.com/cygwin//setup.bz2 line 1221: unrecognized line 1221 (do
you have the latest setup?)
...
"

The workaround in http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21206#c6 works for me
