[Bug 22712] Servant Salamander can't execute .exe files

On wine 1.4-rc6 and Salamander 2.54 I could not run c:\windows\regedit.exe or
notepad.exe. 

It seems that Salamander tries to extract icons from executables (to show them
in file lister) but somehow fails, and tries again. 

Even without doing anything in the application, there are hundreds of similar
messages in console:
