[Bug 30045] Arcanum: objects flickering, periodically disappear

The same commit causes trouble in some of the adventure games published by The
Adventure Company. Such a game is Return to Mysterious Island 1:

1. menu options are missing decorations; buttons in the menu are not drawn
(only the first button, <New Game> is drawn).
2. items in the inventory screen temporarily disappear when you hold the mouse
pointer over an object. A tooltip appears but at the same time the objects
disappear.
