Unable to test it.  Seems like bug 15848 is back (or rather, it was never
actually fixed), and the window-minimizing workaround described in that bug
report is no longer working for me.

This was tested after the commit you link to, and the HUD was still not
working, as described above.  Basically, proper functioning is that the HUD
window (most of which is transparent) fully covers the poker table window.  In
wine, the drawn parts of the window showed up correctly, but the transparent
parts were solid black instead.  Additionally, it is necessary to be able to
click and interact with the underlying poker table window 'through' the
(mostly-transparent) HUD window.
