Running the installer:
$ wine GitHubSetup.exe

opens an iexplore window with the following url:
http://github-windows.s3.amazonaws.com/GitHub.application

but nothing else visible.

Terminal output is really short:

tried native ie7, thinking that urlmon may be involved, but that doesn't help.
