When I tested this SSF it was version 009 beta. I retested now both 009 and 012
and the results remain the same, if there is a CD drive in windows the program
starts, if there is a cd drive with a mounted CD in linux the program starts
too.

Did you test with a real CD or an ISO? Try to browse the cd inside winefile or
wine explorer just to be sure it's readable.
