The ALSA->PA route appears broken, whereas directly using PA seems to work. 
Hence Wine might consider adding Maarten's (proven?) Wine->PA route and leave
the Wine->ALSA route clean of PA hacks, ready for use by Jack, dmix and hw:0
etc.

Meanwhile we should seek the easily reachable benefits:
- I believe Maarten has a DSound patch to use mmdevapi's SetEvent.
  That would sync both, which is a good thing -- nearly a necessity.
- When I'll find time again, I'll have my "stabilize
  CreateTimerQueue" patches and esp. tests comitted, see bug #30071.
