The 2 issues in comment 6 are resolved. One a while ago (no idea what), the cmd
/c issue today. Resolving bug - if there are more different iassues please
raise separate bugs and I'll work through them.

Z:\media\sf_wine>echo (si::save-system "modified.exe") > echo.txt

Z:\media\sf_wine>more echo.txt
(si::save-system "modified.exe") 

Z:\media\sf_wine>cmd /c echo "/?"     
"/?"
