I managed to compile and install libxcb-1.9. I added to the configure script:
--enable-selinux --enable-xinput --enable-xkb, because they were disabled by
default, no idea if that matters.
So far so good..the freezing issue no longer occurs when installing Aquanox
demo.
I keep testing Wine with libxcb-1.9 to see if other games that I know that have
bug #31406 are working fine.
