Oh, sry. 

Yes, it launches without any problems and seems to be running fine, just
without sound.

( Can't tell why though: I never encountered this bug here. The first time I
started the game, I already had that stub2 patch applied + various other random
& desperate things that I tried while steam was taking a freaking 2 days to
download the game. )
