I can confirm this bug, I also have To the Moon and Dreamscape from another
Indie Bundle and they behave in the same way.
I believe this is a dupe of bug #19566. It affects many if not all games
created with the RPGMaker tool.
These games store resources in a compressed file (.rgssad) and they usually
make it encrypted when creating the game in RPGMaker. There are tools out there
intended to uncompress such .rgssad archives, and the game indeed can be
started in Wine after unpacking the archive. These tools have questionable
legal status however.

Demos exist for these games, including To the Moon, but they usually contain an
additional protection layer: the game executable is packed/protected with
Armadillo. This could interfere with Wine when testing.
To the Moon from the Indie Bundle is DRM free, only RGSS102E.dll is packed with
ASPack v 2.12 (don't know if that affects anything)
