Qian: 

  Does it look to you like using libxcb 1.9 fixes the corefonts issue?  It
still seems broken, here.  Or,  AJSB, you say updating libxcb solves "most"
problems.  Do you recall whether it reliably fixes corefonts for you?  (E.g.,
running as Qian says 10 times, do you never get a crash)?

  Of course, maybe I'm seeing a different bug ...
