Still present (no need for native msxml3 anymore).
You can still download After Effects CS5 demo from Adobe
if you search around a little bit for the howto.  sha1sums:

The installer complains you don't meet the system requirements unless you
run with e.g. 'winetricks win7', but will run anyway.

When the installer quits, a log is saved in
c:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Installers/Adobe After Effects CS5 10
$date.log.gz

and on my run just now (done after winetricks vcrun2008 vcrun2005 vcrun2010)
the first hint of error was for vc80:

Calling the custom action code for post-install for payload

Set payload canceled status

I don't know yet how to find any hint of the error in the relay log.
