This issue is now resolved upstream by XCB commit
23911a707b8845bff52cd7853fc5d59fb0823cef.  I'm working with the Ubuntu folks
(and trying to contact the Debian folks) to get this commit included in the
repositories ASAP.  Please update to the latest git for libxcb and open a new
bug if you find any further issues.
