[Bug 34181] why not allow windows_XP-wide switch to "high contrast reversed colors" ?

a) it's excel 2003

b) in win XP, to choose system-wide color scheme with dark background and
bright characters one needs to:

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

Double-click Display, and then click the Appearance tab.

In the Scheme box, click the color "black contrast".

this makes excel 2003 run with inverted colors...
