NICE! it appears that the launcher now correctly displays (Wine 1.6) though it
is jerky to move about and moves to the top-left of the screen before it
dissappears when minimising.

In addition, I had to alt-tab to the launcher as clicking on the icon in my
launcher to bring it back up failed (Ubuntu 13.04 launcher)

Wohoo! this means I can comment out my xrandr commands in my launcher script :D
