In 1.7.0 and DHE 5.5 the situation is somewhat better, but not entirely fixed.
Dropdown menus refresh properly, but the edit window does not. Manually
resizing the window forces a refresh. The console is spammed with

fixme:olepicture:OLEPictureImpl_FindConnectionPoint no connection point for
{33ad4f92-6699-11cf-b70c-00aa0060d393}

Toolbar controls don't work at all, but that's probably another bug.
