Well, it's nothing more than a hunch, really.  My thinking is that mIRC will
set different options in its Connect dialog (the one that should show up after
continuing from the trial dialog) depending on what TLS versions are supported
by the platform.  I further figured, it is during this option-setting that the
infinite loop bug is triggered.
