-Update-
The game crashes WINE without warning and when it does, restarting the game
will then crash Wine repeatedly after a few seconds of gameplay - only
restarting the computer helps, but the problem is only postponed.

The settings in Windows 7 (see the PNG attachment) reduces the problem
significantly, but does not stop the crashing completely (in Windows).
