Indeed interesting. Maybe there is an inconsistency in the appdb/metadata on
the server side of Valves content delivery system.

I don't have Windows installed, but I tried the game in Virtualbox (Windows XP
guest). The game when started gets a bit further than in Wine, intro videos are
played but the game crashes before reaching the menu.

Hmm ... I'm not sure if it's worth to waste time on this if the game crashes
even on Windows as well (although a bit further).
If more Steam games exhibit a similar issue (crash in DRM scheme/integrity
part) - maybe.
