--- Comment #77 from david.dljunk at gmail.com 2013-02-09 05:06:21 CST ---
So I think I've reached the limit of my usefulness for now. The commands to
find and access joysticks in OS X through IOKit seem completely arcane to me.
I've attempted to study not only the OS X dinput joystick implementation, but
also Apple's developer pages describing IOKit and the HID library and there
seems to be a lot of ancillary material I would also have to become comfortable
with in order to program a winmm joystick interface myself. Hopefully what I've
written above in Comment 75 will be useful as a guide to what needs to be done,
but the actual writing of the winmm driver code is at the moment too far
outside the scope of my skill set.

If anybody reading this bug report has the necessary knowledge and would like
to contribute their time to writing code, I would be very much obliged and
happy to help test it.

Thanks for reading!
