[Bug 32897] Final Fantasy XI Crashes Immediately on PlayOnline startup

I spent most of my Friday night tracking down the installer bug, but was
eventually able to install so this isn't really gated by that issue.

With straight library code and an optionless configure, I was not able to
reproduce this. However, I went back to the base Gentoo installs and found that
1.5.15 has very garbled sound, but no crash. At 1.5.16, PlayOnline crashes
immediately before anything shows on screen.

I noticed that the Gentoo ebuilds differ between 1.5.10 (the last stable level
for FFXI) and 1.5.15 when it comes to pulseaudio, but 1.5.15 and 1.5.16 appear
to be the same. In all cases, I believe I should have pulseaudio disabled.

I'll update again when I have more time to play around with configures.
