I also get the crash. The popup error message about SWDNLD.EXE only occurs when
there are processes left running from a previous crash. 

This is not a regression. The AppDB howto (and my own test report from 1.3.22)
state that neither the slim nor full exe installers work, and the workaround is
to use the msi installer downloaded by winetricks.
