Warcraft 3 ships with a built-in DivX DirectShow filter capable of decoding
video (on a +quartz debug, you'll see it as "DivX for Blizzard Decoder
Filter"). However winegstreamer somehow gets in the way and gets used instead
of it. Either way though, videos don't play even with all the codecs presents,
a fact that's already documented in bug 12792, which has a few possible
workarounds you can try.
