Gentlemen,

I have been away for a long time working on school projects... The bug still
persists.

Basically I have tried several setups - nothing seems to work...

I have several different PCs and laptops for testing with dual WIn 7/Vista/2000
server installed with Ubuntu or Suse.

I prefer Ubuntu...

Current setup:
TestUnit1 Consumer PC:
Gateway i3 530 @ 2.93 x4 core with 8GB RAM (7.7GB listed under Ubuntu)
Bootload to Ubuntu (just upgraded to 12.10 from 12.04)
74GB Ubuntu Partition
125.5GB Swap partition - It was just 10GB - I bumped it to 125 physical
partition to test swap... (swap space gets used - but never fully - Ad aptrade
just reports insufficient memory during end cycle of build process)

I have not been able to get it to function in any recent WINE version past
1.4.1

I also have to configure WINE for WinXP to make it load.. otherwise I get a lot
of odd windows errors - black boarders and just random behavior...

With 1.4.1 and WinXP setting - using 32 bit or 64 bit version of the adapt
trader installed to fresh setup - it behaves as normally - but with any version
past 1.4.1 it will not work from my experience. It will load but will give lots
of errors... I will try to reproduce and post pictures with errors.

Under 1.4.1 - it will run darn near perfectly - so long as I use small data
files and simple metric rules - it will behave normally - basically it does not
exhaust the ram. When I use larger data source files or complex build metrics -
it will sometimes quite half way through the build process - which is when it
is generating random "population" members to then test against the metrics -
but most often it will complete this process even with several thousand members
or just a few hundred for larger files - but it will usually freeze wine on the
last step of the build process where the application sorts and ranks each
population member it just generated against the build metrics - apparently
there is a lot of number crunching and it quickly goes out of RAM - some
processes are swaped to swap space as I can see sometimes up to 2GB being used
of the swap space - but not much more.. I think that is just other regular
ubuntu processes being swapped out but not the wine applications...

I am sorry I did not respond till now - I did not see this was updated and as I
said I have been busy with other projects and school.

This would be great to get help to figure out...

my school has offered up to 7 HPC nodes to me to use - apparently our
university HPC center is not being used much so 7 of the 22 nodes it owns are
usually turned off for lack of use... I would like to get this to run on the
HPC cluster - but most resources we run on that need to be built from source
with openMPI to make use of the parallel processing power... each node has like
32 cores and 64GB ram. Just one of these nodes would perform well - but if I
run out of ram and need swap - I will be in the same place as I am with the
desktop consumer equipment.

This is just for educational purposes for me to learn more about architecture
and porting with WINE.. I am a complete newb to all this and appreciate all you
can do to point me in the right direction. The builder program is free to
download and test for 14 days for anyone. I can provide data files to recreate
the results I am seeing.
