I have Gentoo 64 bits and swtor_fix.exe stopped working (meaning it doesn't
help - technically it keep being executed without errors) since Wine >= 1.5.25
and the following emul-linux-x86-* (I don't remember which one are required by
Wine):
app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-baselibs-20130224
app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-soundlibs-20130224
app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-gtklibs-20130224
app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-qtlibs-20130224

I don't know if it is a regression with Wine itself or with those
emul-linux-x86-* since such 20130224 version is required by Wine >= 1.5.25. 
Wine <= 1.5.24 required the version 20121202 of those libs and in this case
swtor_fix.exe worked correctly.

For sometime I have been able to stay with Wine 1.5.24 and those lib at
20121202 version by masking the updates, but since few weeks ago other programs
on my system started to require the 20130224 version to be updated so it wasn't
feasible to keep the old version. Of course since then I couldn't play SWTOR
(it wasn't a problem until this evening since I was on temporary break from the
game).

I am no expert in debugging, but if I can help just tell me what test I have to
do.


P.S.: I don't know if it helps but Wine >= 1.5.25 and those libs on version
20130224 give me problems also with Lord of the Rings Online: it get frequently
terminated without errors.
