One last thing,

can anyone please try MacOS X and check if SOCKET reuse is allowed by the mach
kernel (using Wine/uTorrent or a little program available as an attachment to
this bug report).

If it's allowed, I'm gonna press Linux kernel developers real hard.

P.S. BTW, the upstream bug report can be duplicated against AOSP - maybe
Android developers will be more tractable and they will at least implement a
solution for this bug as a patch.
