Thank for the info.

Backtrace on update checking shows call to crypt32 functions, with winetricks
-q crypt32 the application complains missing function entry point of
CryptStringToBinaryW. However, if I replace winetricks' crypt32.dll to WinXP's
crypt32.dll, I can get UPlay finishing the update checking.

Setting component to crypt32.
