I'm unsure what you mean.  What is set to 16-bit color mode?  Are you
configuring Mac OS X for 16-bit color?  If so, how?  The Display pane of System
Preferences does not support that any more, as near as I can see.

Or are you configuring something in Wine?  Again, how?  Please be specific.
