Until yesterday age of empires 2 was working well. As soon as I updated all
packages today (which I usually do near the end of the month), wine displays a
blank screen when I launch age of empires 2. Sound works fine. Display does not
show up at all.

I'm in shock. I used to play it almost daily for an hour of so for last many
years. Trying to revert to previous 'working' version.
