Interesting. Are you saying that the following loops are equivalent?
while (GetMessage(&msg, NULL, 0, 0))
{
    DispatchMessage(&msg);
}

while (1)
{
    PeekMessage(&msg, NULL, 0, 0, PM_REMOVE);
    if(msg.message == WM_QUIT) break;
    DispatchMessage(&msg);
}
