There client has always been subject to "segmentation violation" crashes, going
back to the earliest days, under Windows 98 and later as much as under Wine
(I've been a member since 2004, and used it for the past six months under Wine
1.4 and 1.6).  Crashes will occur after less play time if you run compass
extensions or other third party add-ons, which are prone to worse memory leaks,
but there are leaks in the unmodified client that will limit a 2 GiB RAM system
under Windows XP to around 90-120 minutes of active play before the
segementation violation (more memory helps, since this is essentially an "out
of memory" failure).  My experience is that the client will run longer under
Wine 1.4 or later than it will under Windows XP SP3 on the same hardware.
