Sorry, I've no idea why the new patch caused performance problems. There
shouldn't be any real difference to the old one. Are you sure you didn't have
some background process running?

I can try to reproduce your symptoms on my old Radeon 9000 GPU, but it'll take
a while to update Wine and other software on that old machine.
