I created a completely new user and there installed Wine 1.4 of Ubuntu 12.4.2
(Precise Pangolin). There I installed Office - crash. After that I tried Wine
1.6 and Wine 1.7 from the Ubuntu PPA - crash, crash. I started the machine with
the VESA driver since the normal graphics driver for "Integrated Graphics
Chipset: Intel(R) GM45" produces some artifacts when Wine is running MS-Office
- crash. Since it also crashed with 1.7.4 from the PPA I set the version in
this bug report accordingly.

I'm now going to compare the two machines more throughly. May be I find a
difference which points in the right direction. I'll also try the debugging
features of Wine. Any tipps on what to look for in particular are appreciated.

I'm ready to compile from the sources if really necessary but I'll try the
above before.
