What I wanted at the time was the headers and libraries for a mingw cross
compiler. I was using python as a scripting language for my own program, and
wanted the ability to build the entire toolchain within linux.


At this point it shows a case that works with microsoft's version of msiexec on
windows, that does not work on wine.  I have not tested it in a while, but
sounds like Austin English has.
