The current Osu! requires .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
At the time the bug was reported .NET Framework 2.0 was probably the required
prerequisite.

OP reported the bug fixed in comment #8 -> resolving 'fixed'.

With MS .NET Framework it still crashes on startup -> tracked by bug 35568
