I did a few tests and now I'm quite puzzled.

The demo on Archive.org seems to be corrupted. I've tested it on a Windows 98
SE Computer and it gets the same error found by Jarkko.

I've found another mirror and I've uploaded it on Mega:

And it shows the same behaviour as described on Comment #13.
