This is how I did to test:

Download Bix Virtual SmartCard driver from:
http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/134010/An-UMDF-Driver-for-a-Virtual-Smart-
Card-Reader (requires free registration)

Download devcon.exe from Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311272/

The driver comes in 3 pre-compiled flavours:
* Win XP 32 bits
* Win 7 32 bits
* Win 7 64 bits

Put devcon.exe inside the folder where you want to install the driver and then:

devcon install BixVReader.inf root\BixVirtualReader

Then it's possible to see the reader in the Smart Card Reader section inside
Windows Device Manager.
