Please open a new bug report for that problem, it has nothing to do with the
originally reported bug. Specify as much info as you can about your system (vga
card, driver, window manager) and the game version you have installed. And yes,
I can confirm this, the game is minimized when started in virtual desktop mode
but works in fullscreen.

The originally reported problem is still present in Wine 1.7.24.
Native d3dcompiler_43 or d3dx9_36 works around it.
Tested with Sacred 2 Ice & Blood 2.65.1 (Gamersgate version), Nvidia binary
drivers 331.89
