An override must also be added for openal32 to get any sound. Unfortunately,
sound suffers many glitches, and if these glitches pile up too fast the sound
devolves into an unbearably loud continuous unstoppable buzz. To quote:

"If "Sound FX" volume slider is not at zero, there is a hugely loud, staticy
sampling noise that occurs intermittently mixed in with the other game audio."
