I think I see this, but without a screenshot on windows to compare, I'm not
sure. The bottom part of the UI is mostly black, and I see outlines of what
looks like buttons for the UI.

Have you tested this under wine at all? Or only on windows with wined3d?

installs and runs without a problem for me in 1.7.23. Your terminal output
indicates a broken wineprefix (or you maybe set dmusic to native without
copying one in).
