Possible fix

I think that my commit may have exposed an unrelated bug.  See if this patch
helps.

Other than this, I can't imagine why that commit would cause those symptoms. 
The crash is within the driver and it shouldn't be possible for Wine to cause a
crash in the driver like that, so it's a driver bug by definition.  Please
report it upstream.

You could also attach a +wgl,+d3d log.  That may reveal something.
