You can control Google's crawl rates if they become problematic:

Realistically though I don't see why performance impact would be high at all.
Googlebot is not very eager by default (and other bots can still be blocked
separately).

The other problem is that since winehq's own search is google-powered, any
search query in there does not return bugs. So if I search, say, "diablo 3
authentication bug" in there I'm never going to get any result (Google would
find it without issues - and no, the appdb is not always useful).
Now, for whatever reason, winehq/search is not actually working at all for me.
But I generally use site:winehq.org queries anyway so I've no idea if that's
new.

I'm reopening this because I'd like it to be reconsidered. I don't do
open/close wars so if you still say it's a wontfix I'll close.
