terminal output wine 1.17 32bit prefix: civ5 shows no text

Civ5 Vanilla installs via Steam
No intro shown, but game runs
No in-game text at all, but everything else seems to work (although I did'nt
test to deep, because I don't unterstand the game without text)

I tried clean 32bit and 64bit prefixes with both wine 1.6.2 and wine 1.1.17.
Same results.
